CNIA’s ambition is to activate the full potential of the naval ecosystem—bringing together industry, the Armed Forces, and knowledge institutions. Our approach is open and inclusive, designed to mobilize and support projects that advance naval innovation.

Whether you have a fully developed project proposal or just an initial idea, we’re here to help you take the next step and provide expert guidance. We invite all interested parties to reach out to the CNIA secretariat (LINK) with any questions.

If your project idea is at a more advanced stage, we encourage you to complete and submit this project template.

Once we receive your submission, a CNIA team member will reach out to help connect you with the right consortium partners across the Ministry of Defence, industry, and the research community.

Based on feedback from specialists in the field, your project description can then be refined and assessed by the CNIA steering group to determine the best ways we can support it—whether through guidance, networking, or fundraising.

Projects are evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Defence relevance
  • Research quality
  • Business potential
  • Contribution to societal resilience
